FAQs
Got a question? We’ve answered some frequently asked ones below. If yours isn’t below, feel free to get in touch.
Where are meetings held?
We always aim to make our meetings as easy and relaxed as possible for you.
We tend to meet our busy working clients at their office for convenience, and our retired clients somewhere more relaxed – either at their home, or often a pub or restaurant local to them.
We’re based in Manchester but can travel to see clients across the UK. Many of our clients live across the North West and in London, but we even have clients who are travelling the world who we communicate with via phone and video call. It’s very much up to you how you’d like us to ‘meet’!
Do you have parking?
Yes, we can arrange parking at both our Manchester and London offices.
Do I have to pay for an initial meeting?
No, the initial meeting is at our expense. The initial meeting is simply a discussion to establish where you are now and where you want to be. We won’t charge you to simply find out if we can help you.
What do I need to bring to an initial meeting?
It would be great if you could have an idea of your goals for the future, and ideally where you are now financially. Don’t worry about this too much though – we’ll get everything sorted if you become a client.
If you have a significant other, they will need to be on board with the process, so please both attend the initial meeting.
How long should I allow for an initial meeting?
About an hour should do it.
Do I have to sign up to your services at an initial meeting?
No. Whilst you’re likely to get a fair bit of value from our initial meeting, you don’t need to sign up or pay for anything unless you’re convinced you want to become a client.
How can I book an initial meeting?
You can either fill out our contact form at the bottom of this page or find our full contact details here.
Are you independent?
Yes. Being completely independent means we’re free to make the best recommendations for you and your unique circumstances.
Are you regulated?
Yes, we are directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). You can find our entry on the FCA register by clicking here.
Can you advise on Final Salary/Defined Benefit transfers?
Yes, but we will only do this as part of larger financial planning work.
What happens if my financial planner is away on holiday?
You will always be able to reach one of our team members by phone or email.
What do you charge for a financial plan?
Please visit our fees page for more details.
Do you get commission?
Not normally. Occasionally some commission is passed back to us if you use our recommended protection or mortgage providers, but this doesn’t increase the cost to you.
Do you charge VAT?
We don’t charge VAT on most of our work, but we will let you know as and when we might.
